Opposite Options Will Fascinate You With Black And White Crib Bedding In The Baby Room

Posted by Melvin on Oct 30, 2009 in Stormy Life

While purchasing bed linen for their babies parents often get confused with the wide variety of colorful designs that are available. Black and white baby bedding is one which you can go for without any confusion among a number of styles and patterns of this basic pairing. Parents have a wide variety of options for accent colors for accessories and wall color.

Generally it is seen that together the black and white can give a countless combinations of different moods going from lively and animated mood generated from the normally used geometric printings to a subdued and dignified mood arising from the use of time-honored, very ornate designs like damask and toile. No matter what styles you use, if you give your child black and white bedding, it will create a vivid image for the room.

Smart parents know that they must first make sure that the bedding they choose conforms to all the basic requirements before they consider other details about decorating the nursery. Baby boy bedding modern should closely fit the crib, because your child will be safer if blankets and crib sheets are properly fitted. It is advisable for parents not to choose overfilled quilts and crib bumpers as they can prove to be suffocating for their baby.

Consumers should also find out as much as possible about the materials used to make the bedding. Parents need to take great care in checking labels for their linens, as some manufacturers and stores try to sell bedding that have poisonous chemicals in them.

After you’re sure that you’re buying high-quality linens, you can start the intricate decorating process knowing that you’re doing what’s best for your child. If you want your “crib bedding” to pop, so that everyone who visits notices it, then using a black and white theme will do the trick because that is the best baby girl bedding polka dots.

A crib set usually has black and white baby bedding by which cost of buying separate linens and time is reduced. If you are working with a tight budget, you will be pleased to know that you can put together a beautiful nursery because of the coordinated combinations of bedding and accessories.

Top 5 Ways to Stay Motivated to Lose Weight

Posted by Melvin on Oct 30, 2009 in Stormy Life

When losing weight, it’s extremely important that you maintain a high level of motivation. There are so many temptations that can hinder your weight loss efforts, so you have to keep your goals in front of you constantly. Here are three great ways you can do that.

1. Avoid negative influence. When I was a teenager, my extended family was all overweight. So when I would try to lose weight, they would often make well-meaning comments like “you’re getting too skinny” or “you need to eat more.” The more you can avoid people who don’t see your weight loss goals as being positive, the better.

2. Seek positive influence. While negative influence can certainly hinder your progress, positive influence can have the opposite effect. So seek out friends and relatives who are working toward the same goals you are and spend as much time with them as you can. Swap ideas and success stories, too. If you don’t have any friends or relatives, join a weight loss program such as Weight Watchers that encourages interaction with other people trying to lose weight.

3. “Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.” I learned that at Weight Watchers, and can personally vouch for the truthfulness of those words. Whenever you’re confronted with an opportunity to go overboard, or eat something you shouldn’t, repeat those words to yourself. Imagine yourself being thin and fit if you pass on that piece of pie or that ice cream and cookies. Suddenly they won’t look so appealing.

Taking the above actions is a great way to keep your motivation strong, and motivation is a definite requirement when trying to lose weight.

Growing Garden Structures

Posted by Melvin on Oct 30, 2009 in Stormy Life

Have you ever taken a walk through a well-made garden? These types of gardens are not only well tended, but there is also a noticeable structure. Small fences, fountains, or statues add to the ambience and beauty of the garden and may help to guide people along or attract their focus to an area. These garden structures are useful additions that add to the attractiveness of a garden, but there is one rule about structures in a garden. The more natural a garden is, the better.

It’s really very enticing to go out and buy small plants or seeds, then begin planting your garden as soon as you come home, but you should show some restraint and carry out some designing. The way to make your garden beautiful is by not rushing but by taking your time and planning with the space and area you have. Before you plant, you should take a few minutes to sit down and map out the basic layout that you’d like to achieve. Remember to take into account the way your plants will grow, as well. Different plants grow to different heights, and you’ll want to make sure your garden structures enhance that without looking out of place. You don’t have to feel tied to this starting design forever, of course. It can change as your garden grows, but having a basic plan before you start digging is a good idea.

This process of planning a structured garden isn’t necessarily easy. There will be an awkward stage while the plants are just beginning to grow and the supporting structures can’t be removed. The garden will look cluttered, but in the end, it will be worth the unattractive, temporary look. When your garden is fully mature, you will be happy you took the relatively small time to plan for success.

You Can Find Some Of The Most Popular Animated Movie Stars At SoCal Theme Parks

Posted by Melvin on Oct 29, 2009 in Stormy Life

Recently I’ve had the chance to visit some of the great theme parks in Southern California. One thing I found is that you can enter into the world of many favorite animated cartoon characters if you enjoy that sort of thing.

The first place we think of is Disneyland, the hangout for Mickey, Donald and all their buddies. Your trip to Disneyland will be better if you do a little research at one of several great websites. Who doesn’t love the wonderful job Disney has done in creating a fictional universe of lovable characters?

Nearby Knott’s  Berry Farm has its own crew of lovable characters with Lucy, Snoopy and the Peanuts team at Camp Snoopy. Knott’s has done a nice job of absorbing Charlie Brown, his faithful pet and their friends into their culture.

Your next stop would be Universal Studios Hollywood and the many TV and movie stars such as Betty Boop, the Hulk, Batman and Spiderman, joined most recently by Homer Simpson and his wonderful family. Your visit to Universal Studios Hollywood will go a little smoother if you pick up some tips and advice first.

The final stop in the character caravan would be up I-5 an hour or so, to Six Flags Magic Mountain. The first thing you see when you get close to the park are the Six Flags roller coasters. As soon as you get inside, you realize that the place is run by the Looney Tunes characters from the Warner Brothers cartoons.

Keep your eyes peeled for Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam and the rest, as they sign autographs at certain designated spots. The childrens’ area has attractions centered around these whacky celebrities, which is a nice break from the thrill rides that dominate the place. It is fun for kids and adults alike to meet these well-behaved celebrities, and you can find them at various spots on the Mountain.

Top 3 Ways to “Discover” Your Next Article Topic

Posted by Melvin on Oct 29, 2009 in Stormy Life

Have you ever been stuck in front of your computer, wondering what your next article should be about? Writer’s block is not uncommon, even for Internet Marketers. Here are three great ways to beat the block and know what to write about next:

1. Check your server logs. Most web sites come with logs that will show you what keywords people typed into the search engines to find your web site (if yours doesn’t, a great free script-based log is Google Analytics). I’m often surprised at what shows up in the server logs. People often find my web sites for keywords I’ve never even written about, that the search engines feel it should rank for. So give the searchers what they want and create a new page around one of the keywords your site was found for.

2. Follow the news for your industry. Using an RSS reader is a great way to keep up with the news for your niche or industry. Scan the headlines for the day or the week and see what’s happening in the world. That can often trigger a good idea for your next article.

3. Ask your readers what they’re interested in. On your web site have a survey script that asks visitors what they would like to read about when they next return. Smart scripts can be designed to pop-up as a visitor is leaving your site so it won’t interfere with their browsing experience while they’re there.

There are a lot of easy ways to get past your writer’s block and discover your next article. Hopefully one of the above ideas will work for you, or has at least triggered your own great idea!

Using Flash in Your Website

Posted by Melvin on Oct 28, 2009 in Stormy Life

So you want to add flash banners to your website?

Well it really isn’t as complicated as you may think.

If you don’t already have a flash file, then search for a free one in any internet search engine. Just type in “free flash banner” and you should find one relatively quickly. The file that you will be using will have the extension *.swf.

Now upload the choosen *.swf file onto your file server, preferably into a directory that is relative to your webpage. Note the URL location of this file.

Next, you will copy and paste the following code into your webpage:

PLUGINSPAGE=”http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash”>

Finally, you replace the “flash.swf” part of your code with the URL of your newly uploaded *.swf file. After uploading your webpage, just refresh your screen and your splash banner
should appear in your browser.

Please Note:
You won’t likely see the splash banner through your html editor, but it will appear after you have published the webpage. You must also have the software installed in your web browser for flash to work. If you are having difficulty, please visit http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/ to make sure that you have installed the current Flash Player.

Also Important:
Note that there are width, and height attributes within the original code that we are using. You may adjust those attributes, currently at: width=1024, and height=240, to suit the needs of your flash banner. Another attribute that you can change is the background colour, which is currently set at: BGCOLOR=#000000, or Black.

Adding flash code to your website can be easy if your browser is configured right, and you have placed the correct URL to the actual *.swf, or flash file, where shown. Just remember to go in between the “parentheses.swf” with the file you are choosing to display on your webpage.

Hopefully you have created a flash banner that will animate accordingly, in browsers all across the world. One last recommendation: Check your finished product in more than one browser, to assure correct display.

Tips For Wedding Event Planning

Posted by Melvin on Oct 28, 2009 in Stormy Life

If you know someone who is getting married, or perhaps you are getting married yourself, there are many more events than just the ceremony and the reception on the big day. These events are all part of the bigger picture. For the most part, some brides will take care of all of the wedding event planning, but that is not always possible for her to do on her own. If your close friend is getting married, see what you can do to take some of the pressure off of her shoulders by doing what you can.

When you are going to help with wedding event planning, be realistic about what you can do. It is customary for the ladies to throw a bridal shower, but that is often the only thing they help with. Some prefer to have the pre-parties together in the form of a couples party. That means both the men and the women do things together. This saves money because there is only one event rather than two, and more people can contribute to the costs. Money is the biggest issue for most when planning wedding events.

You can, however, tell the bride that you want to help her with as much of the wedding event planning that you can, but money may be an issue. You want to help organize and plan, but you don’t have the cash to take care of everything on your own. She may appreciate the help, and probably would not expect you to dish out so much anyway. There are things the couple usually pays for anyway, and she may not even want you to consider adding your own money. Instead, the gift of helping with wedding event planning would be enough.

If you are going to be taking on some of the wedding event planning, you don’t want to bother the bride each and every time you think that you should get input. This is when you want to get some phone numbers, if you don’t have them, of those that know the bride a little more than you do. Even if you are her best friend, there could be things that her mom or her other friends may know that can help you out with the planning of wedding events.

Other tips for good wedding event planning would be to have details kept all in the same place. Get a notebook for each event you are planning, and then make sure you use them. Always ask for help from someone in the family or within the circle of friends when you are unsure. Try to think ahead about any problems and what solutions you may need to have ready to go. Also, have some other help with your wedding event planning so you don’t have to do it on your own.
